BRW (formerly Business Review Weekly) is an Australian weekly business magazine published by the Fairfax Media group. It regularly compiles lists which rank corporations and individuals according to various criteria, similar to Fortune magazine in the United States.

BRW provides news and commentary on the economy, business and investment in Australia. The magazine reports on successful business strategies, investments and entrepreneurialism. Each year it names the 200 richest people in Australia and the magazine regularly includes stories about how the wealthy made their money and what they will do next.

Other annual lists published by BRW include:[1][2]

Cover stories and features concentrate on ways to make money and improve businesses. Each week BRW focuses on a sector or topic relevant to business people or investors. A TV channel was launched in 2008 and houses interviews with some of Australia's most successful and influential business leaders such as Harry Triguboff and Clive Palmer.[13]

Sean Aylmer, Editor-in-Chief, is a specialist in economics and financial services. He trained as an economist and worked for the Reserve Bank of Australia before shifting to journalism. Aylmer has worked at The Sydney Morning Herald and The Australian Financial Review (AFR), where he has been an economics correspondent based in Canberra and a foreign correspondent based in New York.

Kate Mills was appointed in June 2010 Editor of BRW magazine. Kate Mills has been a financial and business journalist for 14 years in Australia and the United Kingdom. On BRW, she has a particular interest in the professions, superannuation, managed funds, corporate finance and corporate governance. Mills has worked on publications including CFO, ALB (Australian and Asian editions), Investor Weekly, Business am (a daily finance newspaper in Scotland) and Legal Business in the UK.

A number of BRW's senior reporters are highly regarded within their area of expertise. Senior business reporter Damon Firth was awarded In 2011 Damon Frith as the overall winner of the 2011 Citi Australia & New Zealand Journalism Awards for Excellence[14], while BRW's web editor and IT reporter Jeanne-Vida Douglas is a multi-award winning journalist who was named the Media Connect IT Journalist of the year for 2009[15].

In 2009 BRW launched the BRW Fast Club, which was developed to drive new business opportunities, forge partnerships and discuss current business issues for Australia’s fastest growing businesses. The BRW Fast Club is a community of like-minded entrepreneurs that comprises members of the BRW Fast 100, BRW Fast Franchises and BRW Fast Starters lists from the past five years; members of the BRW Top 500 Private Companies List; and businesses who fit the criteria of the above and supply their company financials for verification. The BRW Fast Club meet throughout the year to network and discuss topics relating to cash flow management, strategic planning, business expansion, offshore expansion, finance (including managing capital & finding new sources), sales, how to sell your business, and IPOs.[16]
